I offer both remote and in-person private tuition and my rates reflect over 20 years experience and my deep understanding of how children learn. To find out more about me, please click the button below.

My sole focus is on a controlled roster of up to 10 students at any one time. By concentrating on this small group I can maintain a detailed understanding of each child, thereby ensuring that the tuition is focussed and effective.

 

A Note About Rates

Each personalised 1-hour one-to-one session requires at least an hour in preparation, together with a further half an hour for setting next steps, reporting and providing feed back to parents. So each session takes around 2.5 hours of my time in total.

So for comparison, a £35 session fee is actually around £14 per hour – providing exceptional value for money.

No lessons are improvised – each one is carefully prepared to address your child’s particular needs.

One-to-One Remote Tuition

Due to the flexible nature of online teaching I welcome children based in all countries, both expats and locals. However, all tuition is conducted in English. 

Each student is managed via Microsoft Teams, with a shared area for parents and child. You will always be kept up to date with your child's progress and next steps.

WHAT DO THE SESSIONS INCLUDE?

  • 1-hour one-to-one tuition via Microsoft Teams video call

  • Full pre-lesson preparation

  • Post-lesson reporting and next steps

RATES

INTRODUCTION SESSIONS

  • Getting to know me ‘Hello’ session, where I can answer your questions and meet your child. This also gives me time to learn about your child - what they like, dislike, their interests and what makes them ‘tick’.

  • On a one-to-one basis with your child, I will assess their current level in relation to the National Curriculum. A simple overview report will be provided (much like a standard school report), together with next steps.

REMOTE SESSIONS

  • Individual tuition session consisting of 1-hour one-to-one video call, pre-lesson preparation and post-lesson reporting.

  • 10 x Individual tuition sessions. Booked and pre-paid with regular weekly slot.

One-to-One & Group In-Person Tuition

I am based in Tetchill (near Ellesmere in Shropshire), and am happy to work with individuals or groups of up to three children (with similar subject and learning needs) in-person at your home. I am happy to travel within 15 miles of SY12 9BA.

Ellesmere and Oswestry – transport included in hourly rate. All other areas have a small surcharge of £5 per lesson to cover travelling costs.

    * Peppard, Sonning Common, Henley, Shiplake, Binfield Heath - transport included in hourly rate. All other areas have a small surcharge of £5 per lesson to cover travelling costs.

  • 10 x Individual tuition sessions for one student. Booked and pre-paid with regular weekly slot.

TWO STUDENTS

  • Tuition session for two students with same subject and similar learning needs. Consisting of 1-hour in-person lesson, pre-lesson preparation and individual post-lesson reporting via Teams.

  • 10 x Tuition sessions for two students. Booked and pre-paid with regular weekly slot.

THREE STUDENTS

  • Tuition session for three students with same subject and similar learning needs. Consisting of 1-hour in-person lesson, pre-lesson preparation and individual post-lesson reporting via Teams.
