I have had a long and successful teaching career working in both state and private schools, and with the importance of individual tuition at an all-time high, I now operate as an independent private tutor.

In all years I have been in the classroom, I have never met two children who are the same or take the same learning path. My extensive experience enables me to identify learning and skill gaps, overcoming weaknesses and reinforcing strengths to enable your child to become a confident learner and thereby maximise their unique abilities. I have experience supporting children who find aspects of the curriculum difficult and extending those with high attainment.

Education is a gift and I have dedicated myself to ensuring children within my care achieve, and enjoy achieving, the very best they can. I know from experience that confidence and self-belief has a positive impact on how children view themselves as individuals. Therefore, not only do I teach children about the curriculum but also how they learn and how a positive mindset enhances their learning outcomes.

I strongly believe that children need firm foundations. With strong foundations, children are able to make more links between their learning which ultimately enables them to make faster progress in their learning. Therefore, I tailor every session to meet the needs of the individual child and their own and parental goals.

I offer unique packages tailored to the needs of individual children and their families. I only tutor a small cohort of children so I can focus on each child and their needs and aspirations.

I have many years of experience working face-to-face with children, and throughout the pandemic I worked online, building considerable experience of working remotely and adapting my teaching methods accordingly.

I love learning as much as I love teaching. Therefore, I study new developments and keep up to date on how children learn, effective practise and the curriculum. With over two decades of experience, I am able to ground these with solid techniques and a deep understanding to have a positive impact on your child’s learning.

PERSONAL

I lived with my husband and raised our children in Henley-on-Thames for over 22 years, we have now moved to a small holding near Ellesmere in Shropshire to follow our love for the countryside and animals. I enjoy walking, looking after my sheep and exploring the many waterways in my trusty kayak.

I’m a mother of two amazing young women, one studying medicine at Keele and the other biochemistry at York.

I love cats and dogs (and chickens), and deeply enjoy nature and its benefits to healing the soul.

My husband works in the music industry and shares my love for learning, as well as a passion for identifying individual’s skills and developing people to be the best they can be.

I also enjoy travelling and learning about customs and religions from around the world. I deeply appreciate the beautiful differences which make us all individual.
